Manuka Health is one of the 15 New Zealand technology firms who have been awarded more than $20 million in government research and development funding from Callaghan Innovation's Growth Grants programme.
Science and Innovation Minister Steven Joyce said the grants allowed high-value manufacturing and services firms to innovate and grow faster.
"That in turn will help lift New Zealand's export revenues, job numbers, and the incomes of Kiwi families," he said.
Manuka Health CEO Kerry Paul noted that the funding was a reflection of his company’s focus on scientific research and innovative new natural products. Recent developments from Manuka Health have included MGO™ Manuka Honey with Cyclopower™, a natural booster for more effective dietary supplementation, as well as high performance honey wound care products being used by hospitals around the world.
