► Mar 2006 Manuka Health New Zealand was founded by Kerry Paul and a group of investors.
► Aug 2006 The first products were manufactured at Manuka Health’s new honey plant.
► Jul 2007 Manuka Health announced their research partnership with Professor Thomas Henle’s group from the Technical University of Dresden, who discovered that the compound Methylglyoxal, naturally occurring in manuka honey, contributes to its unique properties.
► Jan 2008 Manuka Health set up an accurate, robust, science based standard for measuring and rating Manuka honey, based on the level of Methylglyoxal.
► 2008 - 2009 MGO™ Manuka Honey rating system was successfully launched in 35 countries
► 2011 Awarded the Massey University Discovery Award in the 2011 Balance Farm Environment Awards in recognition of new discovery and implementation of economically and environmentally sustainable farming systems.
Launch of CycloPower™ technology – the world’s most advanced natural delivery system for bioactive supplements. Manuka Health along with Japanese scientists patented CycloPower™ technology worldwide.
► 2012 Manuka Health hosted Prof. Thomas Henle, who gave lectures at Waikato and Auckland Universities on the discovery of methylglyoxal in Manuka honey, its function in the body and its safety. The Waikato University lecture was chaired by Prof. Peter Molan, who was the first to discover Manuka honey’s unique attributes.
Launch of Manuka Health’s range of Wound Care products made with Medical grade Manuka honey.
► 2014 Completion of new $10m customised facility in Te Awamutu, New Zealand.
► 2015 Manuka Health signs agreement for sale of company to Pacific Equity Partners (PEP).
► 2016 New CEO John Kippenberger is announced and founder Kerry Paul is appointed to the Board and to the role of Director of Business Development.
